2008 Rudd Oakville Estate Red 99

“The finest Rudd Estate Proprietary Red Rudd has yet made is the 2008… The soaring aromatics are followed by a wine with fabulous concentration, a seamless integration of acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood, a brilliant texture, a fabulous personality and loads of complexity as well as full-bodied richness.”

2007 Rudd Oakville Estate Red98 +

“Notes of burning embers, forest floor, creme de cassis, blackberries, espresso, and a hint of chocolate soar from the glass of this full-bodied, well-delineated, structured wine with tremendous depth and texture. This awesome red is a future legend in the making. Give it 4-5 years of bottle age, and drink it over the following 30-35 years.”

2007 Crossroads Cabernet Sauvignon 95 +

“…it is still unevolved with a primary character, but it does reveal attractive blueberry and cassis fruit interwoven with notions of incense, camphor, and licorice. As the wine sits in the glass, a graphite scent also emerges. Full-bodied with ripe tannin, but only hinting at its ultimate potential, this 2007 should be forgotten for 5-6 years, and enjoyed over the following 20-25 years.”

2008 Edge Hill Mixed Blacks 96

“One of the most compelling wines made in California, it is a sexy, hedonistic full-throttle red that is a tribute to the first generation immigrants that planted these grapes in Napa Valley.”

2008 Rudd Bacigalupi Chardonnay96

“The complex aromatics are followed by a full-bodied, luscious wine displaying a superb texture and density as well as a long finish with a hint of minerality.”

2009 Mt. Veeder Sauvignon Blanc93

“It is surprising what Rudd has been able to achieve with Sauvignon Blanc…A beautifully textured, rich, fresh Sauvignon Blanc, it should drink nicely for several years.”

2009 Susan’s Blanc 95

“Rudd’s newest baby is the 2009 Susan’s Blanc from the Mt. Veeder vineyard. This powerful, rich, concentrated white requires some aeration to release its aromas of beeswax, lemon custard and honeyed citrus. The oak component is pushed to the background by the wine’s power, multilayered texture and full-bodied, fresh, lively finish.”
